Practical
The conference will be held mainly in English. However to accommodate the Portuguese and Spanish speakers we may have some talks in other languages like Portuguese or Spanish.
When
15 to 17 October, 2008. The first day will be devoted to workshops, followed by the conference itself on the following days.
Where
For this year’s venue we reserved the entire Lisbon´s International Fair Meeting Centre (Rua do Bojador, Parque das Nações), a modern building with three large conference rooms: the main speakers hall where the keynotes and largest presentations will take place and two extra rooms for the sidetrack talks and the open sessions (proposed and voted by the attendees) will take place. We’ll also have a smaller room entirely devoted to Birds of a Feather gatherings and micro-presentations.
Located in "Parque das Nações", Lisbon's newest landmark neighborhood, laid down by the River Tagus shoreline, it's a stone´s throw from Lisbon´s Airport and the International Train Station, as well as to bus, subway and boat lines. There is a Shopping Centre nearby and loads of nice bars and restaurants. There are also lots of hotels nearby within several categories and parking is abundant.
Hotels
We made a deal with VIP Hotels in order to get better rates to all our attendees. There are 10 VIP Hotels in Lisbon, ranging from five to two star hotels and we managed to get discounts UP TO 35% OFF.
